Abstracting & Other Writing Assignments
Writing indicative (i.e., descriptive) or informative abstracts or annotations.

Editing
Developmental editing for content, word flow, cohesiveness, and more “big picture” issues.
Feedback on writing projects, including wordiness and deviation from main subject.
Grammatical errors, typos, spelling errors, and formatting inconsistencies. Special attention is paid to footnotes and citations.
Note: Basic editing is done on all indexing jobs. More in-depth and developmental editorial work may be requested in combination with indexing, and pricing will be reflected in the work agreement. Major editorial work should be complete, and pagination set, before indexing a document can begin. As a result, more time will be required to complete this type of project.

Each writing project is unique. Depending on the length and complexity of the abstracting or writing assignment, rates may range from $27-$40 per hour, depending on the nature, complexity, and timing of the project.

Pricing Information: Copy and Developmental Editing
Based on the pricing information from the Editorial Freelancers Association, rates may range from $41-$45 per hour (or $.03–$.04 per word). Please contact me for more information.
